What the Way of a man is all about

The way of a man exists for men of all ages and walks of life, to equip them with biblical tools and resources for growing closer to God and to each other, and to help them live out their true purpose, giftings, and leadership potential in the world. We aspire to provide a place and network of connection, fellowship, training, and encouragement. No man should live an isolated life, but should be continually surrounded and uplifted by a band of brothers in Christ.

We believe that God has assigned men to be the spearhead force for the advancement of His Kingdom on earth. As men, we are called to lead the way through seeking after our Lord Jesus Christ, and by serving our families, communities, and those in need. We are given the responsibility to stand strong on the spiritual battlefield and initiate the charge for the advancement of the Kingdom. For any battle to be won, there must be those who lead the way, and we are those men. As God calls us forward and equips us with the tools and weapons that we need to fight the good fight of faith, we must take up the call in humility and boldness, and stand together as His chosen ones.

"This is my command-be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:9

Men are called to lead. But what does that mean exactly? Eradicating toxic leadership is one of our missions, but not at the expense of all leadership. God’s word instructs men to lead by example, first by wholeheartedly devoting ourselves to Christ, then by inviting our families and friends to join us. We do not require allegiance to our leadership, but inspire others through the fruit of the Holy Spirit produced in us and the Godly behavior that comes from that fruit. Men should never be domineering, controlling, or suppressive. These traits are always accompanied by abuse and fear tactics. Instead, we lead like Jesus leads. With humble assertiveness, gentle strength, and sacrificial love.

"But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant." Mark 10:43

Ironically, we lead best by following. We follow Jesus in every way that He leads us.

Men lead best by serving. First by serving God in every area of life. Next, by serving our families and friends, prioritizing their good and flourishing. Then by serving our communities and those in need. Just as Jesus came to earth to serve, not to be served, we men must follow in His footsteps.

"For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give His life as a ransom for many." Mark 10:45

We believe men should be passionate. Not with unchecked or reckless fervor, but full of the abundant life that God gives to those who know Him intimately. Our passions are for the Kingdom of God and not of this world. Sinful pleasures and temptations can only be conquered by a greater passion for the joy, honor, and glory of God Himself.

"But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." Matthew 6:33
